RespiteRespite Program Mission Statement

The Salvation Army London Village Respite Program supports individuals and their families through the provision of respite services which values the physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs of its participants.


 Our Pledge:

In-Centre Respite:

Program staff provides 24 hour care including assistance with personal care and routines of daily living as required, as well as facilitating a variety of activities in the community. Respite periods are designated either children (5 – 17) or adult (18+). Program fees apply.


Activity Night:

This program supports teens and young adults to participate in leisure activities. Pre-registration is required, as well as a registration fee.




These workshops offer both recreation and therapeutic activities for children/youth that have a brother or sister with special needs. These workshops are planned and facilitated in partnership with Community Living London, CPRI and Autism Ontario-London Chapter. There is no cost for the workshops, but pre-registration is required. 



ASD Programs:

There are a few program options specifically for children/youth between the ages of 5 - 17 years who have a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). These programs are offered in smaller group settings and provide a variety of leisure activities both onsite and in the community.  Options include Saturday Programs, Summer Day Camp for Teens, designated ASD In-Centre weekends.  Program fees apply.



Adult Day Program:

Our day program is offered Monday- Friday for adults who have graduated high school and are looking for meaningful day supports.  This program provides education, leisure and life skill opportunities.  Daily program fee applies and includes lunch and snacks.

How to apply for service:

Children 5-17 years should contact the Program Director at The London Village to initiate the intake process at 519-455-4810 ext.327 or email    


Adults 18 years and over should contact Developmental Services Ontario (DSO) - South West Region at 519-963-1891 or toll free at 1-855-437-6797 to confirm eligibility and complete the application process for adult developmental services. There is a wait list for adult respite services.  If you've already contacted the DSO make sure they know you want to be on the wait list for respite services.
